Dr. Martin is a board certified, fellowship trained, Orthopedic Surgeon at Copper State Orthopedics, Ltd., Phoenix, Arizona . In addition to his busy private practice—he helps to provide Orthopedic services for crippled children throughout the State of Arizona through Children's Rehabilitative Services ( CRS ) and for the poor and the medically indigent populations both in the inner city and on Native American Indian Reservations. Dr. Martin is also the medical director of Urgent Care +, LLC, Phoenix, Arizona .
Dr. Martin is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and has a dual appointment on the Academy's Diversity Advisory Board and on the Council on Advocacy. He is in part responsible for developing and for implementing national policies regarding “Culturally Competent Care” and for improving health disparities.
He is a founding member of the Dr. Charles E. Gavin Memorial Foundation and serves on the Board of Directors of many public and private organizations. Dr. Martin is a lifetime member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. In addition to his professional membership to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, he is a member of the American Medical Association (AMA), the Arizona Medical Association (ArMA), the Arizona Orthopaedic Association (AOA), the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB), the Maricopa County Medical Society (MCMS), and the Western Orthopaedic Association (WOA).
Dr. Martin has received numerous scholarships, honors, and awards. He is an advocate for better healthcare for all and has special interests in children, the medically indigent, and, Native American populations. He received his medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois.
