Dr. Magalnick was appointed to the Board in 2011. He has been in the private practice
of Pediatrics since 1978, and has held many positions both within the state and nationally
to serve children. Dr. Magalnick has chaired the Pediatric Departments at John C. Lincoln
Hospital, Phoenix Baptist Hospital, Banner Thunderbird, Arrowhead and Saint Joseph's Hospital.
He has also served on the Medical Executive Committee at Phoenix Children's Hospital.
Dr. Magalnick currently chairs the Arizona Medical Associations Maternal and Child
Health Committee, and serves on the Board of the Arizona Children Association. He also
conducts medical reviews for the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS).
He attended the New York City public schools and graduated from SUNY Downstate
College of Medicine Cum laude in 1971 and went on to do a residency in Pediatrics
at the University of Maryland. He served there as Chief Resident in 1974, and did
one year of psychiatry residency before serving two years in the United States Navy.
Dr. Magalnick has served as medical liaison to Make-A-Wish of Arizona and has also
been on the Board of Make-A-Wish of America. He is past chair of the Arizona School
Health Association and has served on the American School Health Associations Physician
Council and the Council for School Health at the American Academy of Pediatrics.
